Really good!

This was awful. I'd give it zero if that were an option. We arrived late and the air conditioning didn't work. The sheets were dirty, stained, wrinkled and clearly not ironed. None of the rooms had regular broadcast or cable TV. The place felt completely abandoned day and night. I saw a woman at reception only twice, between 7 and 9 p.m. The cleaner, Jacson, was out of sight almost all the time; I saw him once, and he was rude to me. For three days I cleaned the room and bathroom myself and took out the trash, including putting the bins out on the street. The receptionist, Uiliane, seemed to be related to the owner, Rafael, and I felt she lied to us. She was only around for about two hours at night and was apparently the only person who could reach him. Rafael never answered either of the two phone numbers Booking gave us when we booked. We had stayed there two years earlier, when he treated us well, and he had asked us to recommend customers, which we did. This time we were so upset that we even considered involving the police, but there was no one to question. Uiliane said Rafael had opened an inn in Pipa. I suspect that wasn't true and that he may have gone broke during the pandemic and is hiding in Recife, where he said he lived, or has something to hide. I was afraid of retaliation. There was no security, strangers came and went, and we were scared enough to stay inside for three days and miss the sea. I strongly suspect the receptionist and the mostly absent cleaner are his relatives, possibly a sister or nephew. She acted kind but seemed to pass everything on to him. We suffered a lot. My husband is 79 and was recovering from thrombosis, and his condition got worse. I'm 67 and was trying to care for him and handle the situation. I saw an older man, around 80, from Paraná crying as he tried to find an affordable way home. We also tried to return, but the tickets cost three times as much. What a nightmare. We moved to another inn affiliated with Booking and are waiting for reimbursement. After five days, including two at the new place, my husband is recovering, and he went to the sea yesterday afternoon. The new inn treated us exceptionally well, like human beings. We had to pay half the stay there to secure the booking, 1050 reais by bank debit on October 22, then another 1050 reais on October 24 to complete the reservation. That unexpected extra expense disrupted our sightseeing plans. On Sunday, October 24, 2021, we spent from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. looking for someone to hand the keys to and found nobody. Three unfamiliar women showed up and said they'd rented a room from a woman whose name they didn't know. We went downstairs, worried we might be accused of stealing. My husband came back because we were concerned about theft and being held responsible. The women were putting towels and other things into bags. He politely asked to pass, locked up, and we took the keys to the new inn. Later we returned and again nobody was there. We recorded everything and left the keys inside the door, which was ajar. Honest, older, educated and polite guests shouldn't have to hide the keys like that. This deserves investigation by the police and Public Prosecutor's Office to find out why the owner is in hiding and only speaks to the supposedly absent receptionist Uiliane. We sent Booking photos and recordings and contacted them several times asking for a refund. They told us to talk to the owner, even though Booking itself couldn't reach Rafael. That response showed a complete lack of information and follow-up. Please give this urgent attention and issue the refund as agreed. We're regular Booking customers. We paid half the new inn's cost upfront to hold the room and the rest two days later, an extra expense we never expected.

The room was good: the bed and bathroom were fine. The air conditioning was weak, though it did cool down after about 30 minutes. The minibar was small but cooled a little, and the old microwave still worked. Since the hotel is right on the beachfront, you can’t park a car at the door. I paid 70,00 for parking for five days. People should stop expecting the same luxury and service as in Rio de Janeiro or Rio Quente. The culture here is different and people are simpler, so small things can seem luxurious to them. What really is a luxury here are the warm beaches and incredible natural pools!

The location is wonderful, with the beach just outside the left door and the town center outside the right. The room, though, was a disaster: mold everywhere, a broken bed, a refrigerator with no door, and a broken toilet. There’s no reception, and the owner is in Natal RN and impossible to reach. He basically told me, “If you want something better, book a resort.”
