Pousada Maravelas

Simple but cozy, and really peaceful. Breakfast was basic, with different options each day. I had a cake that I think was marble cake, and it was delicious. I think they bake the cakes themselves. There's also a microwave guests can use, which I thought was great. The shower is a bit weak, but it didn't affect my stay. I'd recommend the place.

The staff were polite, attentive, and always ready to help, and the beach is just a five-minute walk away. It's a lovely, quiet stretch with kind, cheerful people and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The waves are stronger, though, so it's not as suited for swimming. For the price, Pousada Maravelas had everything I needed for a comfortable trip. I stayed in room 11. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the bathroom met my needs. Breakfast was very good, with great cakes, savory choices, and different fruits each day. Maracaípe is a nice place to visit in Ipojuca, especially if you're after a quieter, more authentic experience. I recommend the pousada for comfort, good service, and value. One note about tour agencies: some only picked guests up at 6:30 or 7:30, but agencies in Porto de Galinhas offer the same tours with pickup at the pousada at 8:30.

The location near the beach and the nice pool make the price feel fair. The other issues were tolerable for what we paid, but the pousada has basic maintenance problems that suggest little care for the place. The room's bathroom smelled bad, and the door lock only worked with the key. Management also left a lot to be desired. Guests had to get their own toilet paper from a spot piled with other things. After they cleaned the water tank, they didn't check that everything was working in the rooms. They only found out there was no water when we went to shower late in the afternoon. We had no usable bathroom for hours, until they moved us to another room. The manager also yells at the employees in the common area where guests can hear. The employees themselves are very kind.

It's a decent value for the price. Breakfast is very basic, and the pousada is a little far from the center of Porto de Galinhas, so you may need to travel to get around. That didn't spoil the stay, though. The cleaning could be better.
