I loved that the beach right outside was much less crowded, though the waves there are stronger. Surfers will love it, and swimmers just need to be a little more careful. I'm not a surfer, but I still really enjoyed the water. The pousada is right by the sea and about a 10-minute drive from the town center, close enough for an easy trip but far enough away to stay quiet. It's a small place with around 14 rooms, if I'm remembering right, and that made it feel intimate, welcoming, and peaceful. I also liked the tasty breakfast and the helpful, friendly staff.

The best parts were the sea view, one staff member who managed to move us to a room facing the water, and the breakfast women, who were very helpful and gave us a lot of support during a difficult time. The new room had the view, but it also had lots of mosquitoes and a cockroach, and the main breaker tripped twice. The toilet paper was very thin and they left only one roll. I heard several people complain when it ran out, and the receptionist said they could come get more. Not exactly convenient if you need it right then. My pregnant wife had been assigned an upstairs room, and when I asked to move downstairs after finding out, they didn't do it at the time. She also couldn't get hot water for a shower. Be careful on the upstairs stairs when it rains, they get slippery. I nearly fell and asked the woman there to put something nonslip on them. Porto de Galinhas doesn't have hospital facilities, so if you need to go, you're relying on God. The place could be very good with some renovation, but right now the view is the only really good thing.

We stayed from 26/12 to 29/12/2025 to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary, and it was an extremely frustrating, infuriating experience. On the night of 28/12 into 29/12, the power kept going out. Our room was hot and full of mosquitoes. I'm allergic to insect bites, and when I asked for help, the receptionist showed no interest and suggested I sleep in the hammock. It was full of maruim, and I was bitten several times and had an allergic reaction that took two doses of allergy medicine to settle. My husband asked for help over and over, but nobody came to check on us or did anything. We were left to manage alone. When we left, there was no supervisor or person in charge to hear our complaint, only the receptionist. There isn't parking, so guests who need it have to leave their cars on the street without any support. At reception, staff had no uniforms, badges, or other identification, so it was impossible to tell them from guests, which felt unprofessional and unsafe. The stairs to apartment 3 were in poor shape, with loose metal and thin, cracked flooring that seemed dangerous. The room was small, the bathroom door was in terrible condition and kept sticking, and the sink drain was clogged. They provided just one roll of toilet paper for two people over three days, so we'd have had to ask awkwardly for more. I also got an electric shock from the shower while using hot water. My husband went straight to reception. The Saturday night receptionist on 27/12 said the electrical staff had already been called, then claimed it wasn't a shock but just a “supapo.” He said nothing could be done and that if I wanted hot water, I'd have to “put up with the supapo.” That answer was absurd, irresponsible, and infuriating. By 28/12 the small pool was dirty, with no sign it had been cleaned. The kitchen staff were extremely unfriendly and always looked annoyed, as though guests were asking them for a favor. The exceptions were the head cook and the receptionists on the 27th and 29th. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Without a doubt, it was the worst lodging experience of my life.

The reception staff were great, but I wouldn't stay here again even for free. We booked three days and lasted just two hours. The listing photos didn't match the place, and it felt misleading. The bathrooms were clogged. We reported it, but were told it could only be fixed the next day. The sheets were dirty, the floor was sticky, and one door wouldn't close. The kitchen was so filthy I wouldn't have wanted to drink water from it.
