Pousada Pedras do Porto

The breakfast was delicious, and the staff made us feel very welcome. Pedras do Porto Inn is a cozy, clean little place with Wi-Fi throughout. There’s no pool, but that’s understandable for a small inn, and the price is low. It’s in Porto de Galinhas village, facing a pretty, peaceful square, close to both the center and the beach. Worth a stay.

The location was a real plus: we could walk to the center, and the beach was close by. But the room and basic upkeep need a lot of work. The bedding and towels were old, and most were stained or moldy. It was disgusting. We asked for clean sheets, but they just turned the sheet inside out, even though it still showed signs of use. Our “triple” room had one double bed and one single, so the three of us expected separate beds but ended up sharing the double. The mattress was awful and wobbly, and I couldn’t sleep properly. There were plumbing problems too. The sink leaked and overflowed. We told reception, and they said they’d look into it, but nothing changed. The shower barely had any water pressure, and the toilet wouldn’t flush properly, especially after a number two. Breakfast had few choices and ran from 7 to 9am. If you arrived after 8:15, the food wasn’t replenished. Aline, the receptionist who checked us in, was wonderful and very helpful. The woman on checkout, though, didn’t say a word, not even thank you. We were on vacation and only needed somewhere to sleep and shower after spending the day at the beach. Even a simple place can be worth it if it’s clean and comfortable, and I don’t think these issues would be hard to fix.
