Pousada Porto Seguro

Fine.

The owner was very welcoming, the air conditioning cooled well, the TV worked, and the place is close to both the beach and the shopping street, which looks lovely at night and has a bit of everything. Getting there by private car is a hassle because cars can't enter the street, only taxis and buggies. You have to leave your car elsewhere and walk to the hotel. Luckily, we were only staying one night. The room was tiny, the beds were concrete with very thin mattresses, the mini-fridge and the outlets didn't work, and the only socket was in the bathroom, so we had to buy an extension cord to charge our phones. The bedspreads and towels were dingy, and the room was dirty.

Terrible. There's a tour agency downstairs selling trips to the pools. They show you a map of Brazil when they sell it, then take you somewhere else. Don't buy from them. A total scam, with seller Jeferson the worst of all. Completely misleading.

I'd arranged to rent the room for five nights and had already filled out the paperwork. While my husband went to the bank to get cash for payment, the owner's daughter rented it to someone else. She arrogantly told me the other guest was a regular customer. It was incredibly disrespectful and showed a complete lack of empathy.
