Santo Antonio Hotel

The rooms aren’t very big, but they were clean, with a great mattress and pillows. Staff gave excellent service, and breakfast was really good and filling, with bread, cold cuts, eggs and fruit.

On my first work trip to Angatuba, I was impressed by the service, the good rooms, top notch breakfast and organized setting. No noise either 👏👏👏

Good value for the price. We were staying for work, and it met our needs. The location is convenient, though it can get a bit noisy depending on the time. The reception could use improvement, which I believe may already be planned. I’d also like the reception fridge and the room minibar to offer drinks besides water. Staff were very considerate and dealt with our requests quickly. I’d recommend it overall.

The bed was comfortable, with a mattress in good condition, clean sheets and decent pillows. The shower was pleasant once it warmed up after a few minutes, with a steady, well distributed flow and good pressure. Shampoo and conditioner were provided at the shower, plus soap by the sink, but the small refills didn’t last even two full showers in my experience. At R$ 300,00 per night, for two people, I expected toiletries in more reasonable quantities. There was also a TV connected to SKY, but no free channels appeared when I turned it on. You had to top up credits to watch anything, which made it useless for relaxing. For that rate, basic TV should be included. The hotel is centrally located, close to shops, restaurants and places of interest, and the private garage is convenient if you’re driving. Those are real pluses. I stayed in room nº 02, behind the building and facing the street, like room nº 01. Traffic noise mixed with dogs howling and barking all night. There was no sound insulation, reinforced door or double glazing, and I woke repeatedly. I think those two rooms should ideally be kept out of the booking inventory because they make restful sleep so difficult. The bathroom added to the discomfort. Its door didn’t shut fully, leaving gaps that let toilet odors into the room. The night was cold, and the air conditioner had no heat setting; there was no extra heater either, so I couldn’t make the room warmer. With the street side and windows, it felt quite cold. Breakfast was extremely basic, just coffee, milk, plain bread and a few cold cuts. I missed essentials like juice and eggs, including scrambled eggs. Even local restaurants in a small town often offer more choice or extras, so the Hotel Santo Antônio breakfast fell short. For two people, R$ 300,00 a night doesn’t match the comfort and services on offer, in my view. I’ve paid less at inns in Ilhabela and had much better rooms, breakfast and service. It’s hard to recommend this hotel to travelers wanting quiet, adequate heating, or more complete food and leisure options.
