I booked more than two months ahead and checked with the hostel on WhatsApp before booking to make sure a late check-in would be okay. My flight was due into Porto Seguro at 1:20 a.m., and Laura told me it wouldn’t be a problem. Two days before the trip, I confirmed again that I’d be arriving around that time. On travel day, while boarding in Rio, I messaged to say I’d arrive in two hours. When I landed in Porto Seguro, there was still no reply. I took an Uber to the hostel hoping to get some rest, but nobody answered the door. I called over and over and sent messages, with no response or help. I was left alone on a completely deserted street for half an hour, scared, and ended up sleeping on the airport floor. If you want a carefully planned trip to start as a nightmare, choose this place.

I was welcomed warmly and the staff looked after me really well. The location is handy, with lots of places within walking distance, and I had no trouble getting an Uber. I’d worried about sharing bathrooms to save money, but they were always clean and close to the room. I loved my stay and will book the Hostel again when I’m back in Porto.

Everything was clean and well organized, and the hosts were friendly and attentive. The location worked well for us, with restaurants, bakeries, pharmacies, supermarkets, the historic center, downtown, and beaches all close by. A really welcoming place, highly recommended.

I was lucky to find such a good price while looking for an affordable place to visit my family. The room was spotless, the hospitality was warm, and the main spots downtown were nearby. I’ll be back before long.

It’s a quiet spot near Porto Seguro’s center, with excellent restaurants close by. The ferry to Arraial D’Ajuda is just a short walk away, and the sunset from Deck da Tarifa is beautiful.
