Hotel Marilia

Great!

Our first room was left with the door open and was a complete mess, so after my friend went to reception, they moved us. The second room was in poor shape too: mold on the walls and ceiling, even inside the minibar; an air conditioner that only made noise; a rusty shower with barely any water; and no blankets. There was no phone in the room, so we had to go to reception to ask for blankets. The receptionist said he’d bring them, but after nearly two hours we had to ask again. A woman, who I think was the owner or manager, handed them over without apologizing for the wait. Check-in was poor from the start. The staff member just gave us the key and pointed out how to get to the room, without showing us there or explaining the hotel rules, how to connect to Wi-Fi, or when breakfast was served. Even simple inns cover those basics. The hotel needs a lot of improvement in its rooms and customer service. I won’t stay here again and can’t recommend it.

We spent 10 days here with family in December. The rooms were cleaned every day, breakfast was great, and the women working on it were very attentive despite the pressure from the manager during our stay. The reception team, Rodrigo and Rafael, were excellent too. The food at the restaurant was wonderful, and the women kept cooking with a smile even under that pressure. João the waiter was attentive and capable, handling the many orders on his own. I’d return if there were new management.

Being close to the beach was the only upside. Some rooms have no windows, the air conditioning is old, and there’s a moldy smell. Stones around the pool were broken. Breakfast was so bad there was even a waste fee. One day the milk was watery and tasted burnt; the next, the juice had so little flavor you couldn’t tell what fruit it was. The fruit was poor quality and there wasn’t much choice. I’m sorry, but I didn’t like it.
