The restaurant is beautiful, but the food was just okay and very expensive. They also charged a deposit when I booked and didn't take it off the bill. Not nice at all. Try somewhere else.

We had dinner here on our honeymoon, and the service was excellent, among the two best restaurant experiences we had in Trancoso. The shrimp dumplings are worth getting, as people often suggest, and the caipirinhas were probably the best we've had, especially the banana and cinnamon one. Our main dishes were good, though not great.

The grilled lobster was perfect, and their signature Moscow mule was a really nice surprise. The service and food were both amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The garden setting was lovely, and the service was wonderful. We started with delicious local cheese pies and sugar cane molasses. I really liked the fish and shrimp stew in red curry sauce, and the menu was fabulous. The desserts were the best part, especially the house trio of puddings, served as a clever blended, deconstructed mix.

We spent the last week here, my Brazilian wife and sister-in-law, me, and two American friends, and absolutely loved the stay. Capim Santo is just a minute from the main square and about five minutes from the famous church. There are so many places for food and drinks within a five-minute walk, but the area doesn't feel built up or crowded. It has a great mix of convenience and relaxation. The staff were terrific and helped us plan outings, including a UTV trip to a village about an hour and a half away and an ocean boat trip. The hospitality, accommodations, food, and location were all great. You could eat at a different restaurant every meal and never run out of options. I'm vegan, and I worried finding food might be difficult, but it wasn't. Capim Santo has vegan and vegetarian dishes on the menu, and nearly every restaurant nearby has vegan options or can leave out milk or butter. Some dishes are marked, and some are vegan by default. We'd love to visit again!
