Vitória Régia Hotel

The only things that went well were the room change after three sleepless nights and the kids' space, which our 5 year old liked. Once I showed how desperate I was, they moved us to a room where the AC was farther from the beds, and we could finally sleep. But you have to stay nearby because there isn't a bathroom inside the kids' space, so you can't leave your child there for a romantic break. We booked 5 nights at 100€/night and were pretty disappointed. The Wi-Fi was down for the entire stay. When I complained, they said too many guests meant it didn't work very well. It didn't work at all, and I don't care why. I expect what the hotel advertises, so that response felt unprofessional. The room was noisy too. The AC blew straight at the beds, the fridge made noise, and both bedside lamps were broken. There were four outlets in the whole room, with only one free, and it was 1.5 meters high. The so-called game room was sad and had almost nothing to do. The ping pong rackets and ice hockey equipment were old and broken; there were checkers and dominoes, and that was about it. The gym felt like it was there just so they could claim to have one, a small, uninviting 7×7 room with five machines, two for running. The location was okay for distance, but getting to the nearest beach meant walking on dirty roads with no sidewalks and cars passing by. It felt really unsafe. Don't take the airport shuttle either. They charge R$250 for a trip that costs around R$27 each way with an UBER. We felt scammed as soon as we arrived. Breakfast was noisy and frustrating. I've never had to wait outside for a table to open at a hotel. Half the buffet was cakes and other sugary food aimed at Brazilian tourists, and the other half was the same every damn day. Orange juice and boiled eggs cost extra. If you're vegan or have a gluten intolerance, forget it. Overall, a really bad experience.
