Pousada Azul

We expected the house to be ready at 2 p.m., as agreed, after a roughly 14-hour drive with two small children. When we arrived around 3, the previous guests' belongings were still there. The owner directed us to someone else, who asked us to come back later so they could collect their things and the place could be cleaned. We couldn't get in until 6, which cut into the rest we badly needed after the trip. There were also several water outages, and breakfast was served late, sometimes behind schedule. The description felt misleading: the inn faces the sea, but a cliff blocks direct access to the beach. It's also inconveniently located, so you need a vehicle to reach beaches, downtown, or other places of interest. The stay fell short because of the management's poor organization, communication, and transparency.

The location was a real problem. You can't walk to the little beach by the center, and behind the inn there's a very large cliff ending at a rocky beach that's inaccessible for much of the day because of the tides. We also had water outages a few times, and breakfast started very late. After a tiring trip, we had planned to check in early, or at least at the promised 2 p.m. But the house was still occupied when we arrived, and we weren't able to get in until 6. We were really disappointed by the lack of commitment.

We've stayed at this inn twice, and the view is lovely and the place is comfortable. What really made it for us, though, was how ERIC and Mônica treated us. They were thoughtful and ready to help whenever we needed them, no matter the time. They made us feel at home and did everything they could to give us a wonderfully restful stay. I highly recommend it.

I spent seven days here, and the room was never cleaned. They didn't change the sheets or towels, and the bathroom trash wasn't taken out. The rooms and breakfast also looked very different from the photos. The beds were bad, with tiger-print sheets, and the rooms felt like a rundown roadside motel. The room itself was like a dump. Erik, who manages the inn, messaged me at inconvenient times to ask whether I'd have breakfast the next day, then complained that I hadn't eaten, saying, “You're trying to mess things up.” I felt like he was watching me the whole time. He also complained that I didn't talk to him and asked if I thought I was better than him. I just wanted to enjoy my stay. It was an awful experience, stay away.
