The location is a real plus, right in the city center and close to everything. But after a good stay here in 2018, our return for New Year's at the end of 2024 was a huge letdown. We arrived on the 30th, half an hour before check-in, and couldn't enter yet. That was fine. Once we checked in, though, the beds were made but the room smelled strongly of mold and had sand on the floor. The cleaning seemed superficial, with dirt behind the bathroom door and hair on the shower tiles. There were no bath or face towels, or toilet paper, until we asked for them. We had booked two rooms a month ahead for a week, and none of the TVs worked when we came back from our trip. The staff member on duty said they had burned out and replacements might arrive during the week, so we could have spent the whole stay without TV. We needed them because we had children with us. After a lot of insisting, TVs did turn up. By January 2, the towels still hadn't been changed. We left them on the floor, and only then were they replaced. The room was also properly cleaned that day, after I asked whether cleaning was going to happen. They had asked the children's ages when we booked. My five-year-old has been out of diapers for a long time, but during the holiday, sleeping at odd hours and drinking at night, he accidentally wet the bed. I removed the bedding, put the mattress in the sun, and let them know what had happened. While we were at the beach, I got a message saying they'd noticed the accident during cleaning and would charge R$100 to clean the mattress. It was already old and filthy, with lots of stains, like the other mattresses. When I questioned the charge, the owner replied very sharply, saying it wasn't normal for a child to wet the bed and that I should have brought a waterproof mattress cover or diapers. Why ask children's ages at booking if they won't explain this kind of policy beforehand? I would have understood the charge if I'd known in advance. His response made it sound as though children, especially those with cognitive conditions, weren't welcome. There were other problems too: what I believe was bat droppings fell onto the beds from the ceiling space, the bed linen was old, the pool was dirty, and the breakfast was repetitive and only so-so. There weren't suitable sun loungers, and there were cockroaches everywhere. We had a back room with a wall right outside the window, and the neighbor's dog kept us up all night. I've seen comments about the owner leasing another guesthouse, so maybe his attention is focused there now. I can't recommend this place anymore.

The location is handy, and you can get around on foot. Reception was helpful and the service there was great. Inside, though, things were disappointing: the shower was poor, although they managed to fix it, debris kept falling from the ceiling, the TV didn't work, water pooled in the shower, and the pool was dirty. Breakfast was mediocre, leaning toward bad. The place also didn't match the photos, or perhaps we were put in the wrong apartment. I wouldn't recommend it, though maybe someone else will have better luck.

The location is the one good thing. The rest of our stay was awful, and I wouldn't recommend it at all. There were bat droppings in the room, the cleaning was half-hearted, the TV had issues, and the pool was dirty. Breakfast kept repeating, the facilities were defective overall, and the air conditioner was noisy.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed staying here. The staff were considerate and did a great job, and I especially want to thank Rose Débora and Mateus for looking after us. I liked how everyone worked and how guests were treated in a way that didn't disturb one another. Hope we can come back soon.
