The rooms are excellent, and breakfast was really tasty. It’s a simple, cozy inn. You can go without worrying.

The only thing that really worked for me was the reception staff, the women there were lovely. My room didn’t even have a blanket, and the bed sheet was torn. Right beside my little annex room there was a hamster setup, which I didn’t think was appropriate, though I only stayed one night. The cleaning wasn’t great, and breakfast was as basic as it gets. We could tell the photos had been taken from flattering angles.

Debora at reception was so helpful and friendly, and I really liked being assisted by her. The woman with glasses on the night shift was very nice too. The bathroom drain had a terrible sewage smell. We only stayed one night to see Prado, so I didn’t ask to change rooms. I doubt it would have helped anyway, since the sewer system is shared. Under the TV everything was dusty, with a white layer on the cabinet that looked like it hadn’t been wiped in at least three weeks. The hotel is 50 meters from Beco das Garrafas and has a lot of potential, but it’s poorly looked after.

The photos on the inn’s website made the place look different from what we found. I booked a stay for my wife and me, and we were very disappointed. The room was neglected and smelled strongly of mold. The bathroom was also in poor shape, with lots of grime on the shower glass. Awful. The reception staff aren’t to blame for the neglect by the manager or owner. There’s no parking lot, so the car has to sit in front of the inn and block the narrow street. Breakfast was far below what many places in Prado offer. We felt misled by the edited photos, and this was a terrible experience. I don’t recommend it. Prado has plenty of excellent inns and hotels, so look into your options before going here. Making a living matters, but people paying for a place to rest deserve at least basic comfort and respect from the people providing the service.
