The staff were always ready to help, the service was incredible, and the place was very accommodating. Even after checkout at 12, they let us keep using the pool and buffet as long as we wanted. I had a great experience and would happily return. A few things could be better. The rooms could use a kettle or something to heat water for a hot drink. The bracelet that opens the room and is meant to be worn all day was uncomfortable, and after five days I couldn’t wait to take it off. There were several cats that looked well fed and cared for, but some seemed only about 4/5 months old. I guess the older cats aren’t sterilized. Please sterilize them so they don’t keep having kittens. On Tuesday, a convention made lunch at the buffet impossible. It was noisy, and there weren’t any free tables. I understand the venue is also used as a convention center, but this wasn’t good for guests.

The pools are great, and the rooms have nice beds. This was my second stay, and the experience was positive for spending time with friends. Still, I wouldn’t bring the family, though it’s pretty OK for a business visit. The beach is rough most of the time, so families with children need to check the times when the sand is enjoyable. There is a kids area, but I didn’t use it since I wasn’t with children. Food and drinks don’t live up to the price. Both visits had lots of fried food, pizza, and sandwiches. At a beach resort I expect seafood. The “Japones” restaurant has entertaining cook games, but the menu is more like an oriental restaurant: rice with chicken and vegetables, guioza, and about five kinds of sushi. It isn’t a Japanese experience, and if you don’t like smoke, you won’t enjoy it. The shared table seats about 15 people. The spa is beautiful, with a pleasant setting and very friendly attendants, but I couldn’t bring myself to spend almost 500.00 on a 50-minute massage.

The water came in a refillable flask rather than a bottle. It was clear and had no smell, though it tasted a little salty. We had no food or water problems during our week there. The main restaurant had plenty of choices, and most dishes suited us, though a few were just a matter of personal taste. At the bar, the same drink can come in several brands, so ask for the one you want. Heineken was the premium beer. Staff were kind and gentle with our baby girl, and we’ve had a good stay so far.

The golf lesson was a lovely family experience, thanks to Joseilton. He was especially kind to our son, and when we left our headphones behind, he took the care to send them back to us. We’re very grateful. We also loved having the surf school Ondas da Alegria right at the hotel. We’re amateur surfers, so it was great to fit surfing in alongside all the other activities. Lessons cost extra, but we thought they were well worth it, whether you’re new to surfing or already enjoy it. Add friendly staff and great food, and it made for a family holiday at Ibero we’d happily repeat.
