Pousada Refugio da Vila

The rooms were excellent, the food exceptional, and the service amazing. Everything was spotless. One of my family members fell on the stairs while heading up to her room. It happened because she was elderly and her shoes were wet, not because of anything the hotel did. The staff stayed with us through the whole stressful ordeal, helped take her to the hospital, and arranged a private Vitalmed ambulance at no cost. They handled everything so well, and we're grateful.

Tom and Marie and their team made sure my family had everything we needed throughout our week here. We felt respected and well looked after from the moment we arrived, and I'm grateful for how much care they put into our stay. The meals, from breakfast and lunch to the cocktails, were delicious and good value. It was a privilege to spend time in such a beautiful place. Even staff from other hotels recommend it, which says a lot.

We picked this hotel for our honeymoon and loved the spa, especially the massage, one of the best we've had. The place is small but has a luxurious feel and lots of charm. It's close to the beach and shops, while still feeling quiet and private. The decor has real character, and you can tell the owner put thought into the details. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious. Tom at the front desk was especially helpful and went out of his way to make us feel welcome, including helping translate things into English. The other front desk staff were warm and helpful too. We'd gladly recommend staying here.

The massage was one of the best I've ever had, and the food and drinks were excellent. Such a friendly team, with every detail thoughtfully planned. A wonderful place.
