Castelinho Solemar - Hot Spa

The staff made a big difference during our stay. They were quick, polite, and helpful, answered our questions promptly, and sorted things out efficiently. They also welcomed us warmly with our little dog, with no fuss about bringing her along. I stayed at Castelinho with a friend and my dog, and we felt safe and well looked after. The room was simple but tidy and comfortable. There was no rug, which suited us for keeping things clean and practical, and even without a heater the room stayed comfortable the whole time. We really enjoyed our stay and would especially recommend it to people traveling with a pet who want a practical, welcoming place with responsive service. Grateful for the stay! 🏡✨

The room photos look much better than the place does in person. It’s presented as a spa inn, but the pool and hot tub weren’t fit for swimming: the water was cloudy, a pigeon was bathing in the pool, and there were lots of insects in the hot tub. No one welcomed us in person. We only got an automatic message with a video showing how to open the street gate. They didn’t explain how to get the car into the parking area, which was chained and padlocked, or tell us which room was ours. We were just told the key was in the door, but it had slipped to the inside, so we opened the wrong room and found someone sleeping there. There was no blanket, and they hadn’t left the towel that was supposed to be complimentary. The mattress was uncomfortable, and you could feel the bed slats.

The bathroom is large, and the room for five was really comfortable. A cozy place that works very well for families. We’ll definitely come back someday!

The rooms are spacious, pleasant, and have what you need, but we ran into several problems. The microwave didn’t work right, the curtain fell on our heads, the sheets smelled like perfume and made me wonder if they’d been washed properly, and the bathroom soap had already been used. The pool and jacuzzis were dirty, so we couldn’t enjoy them. It’s very far from any city center, so it’s not a good fit for a busy vacation. It’s more a place to rest and relax. That was a shame during a holiday, since the neighbors were celebrating. On the plus side, it’s close to the beach, with small shops nearby, and the owner was always reachable by phone and dealt with each problem right away.
