Hostel Do Valdemar

Dona Catarina welcomed us very warmly at first, but she never explained any rules. We smoked in the room because we didn't know it was prohibited. She then made a huge scene, gave us five minutes to pack, and kicked us out. If she'd told us the rules or put up signs, we would have respected them. She was very rude and unprofessional with paying guests. She refunded one night's stay but kept $25. The rate was high for such poor hospitality, $140 a night.

It's such a pleasant, cozy place, and the owners are always attentive to guests. I felt at home here, and it's already won my heart. I'll definitely be back.

The room was clean and smelled fresh, and Katarina, who runs the hostel, was lovely, friendly, and really attentive. It's a simple place without any luxury, but it's just right if that's what you're after, and everything is close by. If you love pets, you'll fall for sheik, the hostel dog. He's incredibly affectionate and gentle. I'll be back with my wife. If you don't like pets, I'd suggest finding another hostel.

I disliked the place from the start. The woman who greeted us was very rude and didn't even show us our room. It was tiny, had no ventilation, and smelled strongly of mold, which was awful for my rhinitis. They said pets were welcome, but when we arrived she complained that I'd brought my small dog, who stayed in the room. She also didn't like us taking the car out at night. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
