Motto By Hilton Recife

The food felt local, and the team was great. This is a lovely minimalist hotel for a stay in Recife, whether you're working or having fun. I'm a local guide, and I think this place deserves an award. Don't let other people's insulting opinions put you off.

The location at Marco zero in Recife is fantastic, and the rooftop food was really good. Every staff member was attentive, and the room was spotless with its own distinctive design. They even put my name on the TV screen when I arrived, which felt like such a thoughtful touch. This is the best hotel I've stayed at. I have nothing but praise for Motto By Hilton Recife, and I'm already keen to come back. Thank you for such a special experience!

The hotel has a good structure and potential, but the operation still needs work to provide a good stay. Since it had only recently opened and belongs to a hotel chain, I expected it to be better prepared for the Carnival crowds, especially with staffing levels and service organization. Getting there was difficult because streets in the area are often blocked, so our Uber couldn't reach us easily. We had to walk several blocks with our luggage, which was uncomfortable. Guests could be told in advance about access restrictions and better pickup and drop-off points. This was one reason we cancelled our next stay there, since we'd have needed to walk on the street with our bags at night before an early morning flight. At check-in, we waited about 20 minutes for someone from reception to appear. The desk was empty, and security staff had to look for someone to help us. After traveling, that made a poor first impression. Breakfast had eggs, couscous, cold cuts, sausage, and fruit, but these were brought around by staff and took a long time to arrive, even when requested. The kitchen seemed overloaded. The buffet itself had very few items, mostly bread, and even the cheese bread was served by staff. It might help to put out items like fruit and cold cuts, keeping only food that needs to stay hot in the kitchen, so the dining room team isn't as overwhelmed.

It’s a short-stay hotel aimed more at business travelers, which wasn't what I was looking for. I also wonder what they plan to do with the building next door. It looks like it was bombed. Seeing this new, somewhat pretentious hotel beside a ruined corner building is almost funny.
