The breakfast alone might bring me back. There were loads of choices, including made-to-order tapiocas, sweet breads, fresh juices, and coffee. It was probably the best part of my hotel stay. The beach is lovely, and the calcadao (boardwalk) has plenty of room to run or bike, plus little workout stations. The location was excellent, though being right next to a slum/favela worried me at first. I didn’t find it had a major impact on anything. The rooms didn’t look like the pictures and weren’t very clean. The bedspreads were stained, and there was hair in the bathroom. When I was leaving, I needed directions to the bus station for my ticket, which listed the “Boa Viagem” ponto de embarque. I couldn’t find that stop on Google Maps, or by searching for bus stations/pontos de embarque onibus in Recife. I showed the ticket and departure point to the staff, and they told me to go to TIP, the main station. When I said I thought that might be wrong and asked them to check, they refused and seemed annoyed. I’d hoped the staff would know the major bus pickup points around town.

The building’s a bit old, but that alone wouldn’t bother me. The beds feel fragile, water keeps dripping in the bathroom even when you turn the tap off firmly, and the air conditioner is very noisy. The service is good, though.

The room had plenty of space, and the location is very central and right by the beach. Unfortunately, you can’t swim there because it’s full of sharks. Breakfast had lots of choices, including the best tapioca, a typical local breakfast. The only uncomfortable part was the old, noisy AC. We had to choose between nights that were warm and peaceful or cool and noisy.

Nothing about the stay really stood out. The room was clean, but the bathroom sink kept dripping, and the TV remote didn’t work. They had no replacement remote. Breakfast was simple.

I liked the view from the room, and everything in it was clean. The hotel structure felt odd and old, though. Breakfast was complete, but I didn’t like the prices of the food and drinks in the minibar.
