The flat is in a good spot, near the beach and shopping, but I’d think twice before staying here. This was my third or fourth visit, and every time there have been embarrassing incidents caused by staff who seem to have no manners or training for their jobs. You might wake up early to find someone opening your door and coming in to fix the intercom because a notice was posted in the elevator. They come in whenever they want, without permission. The apartments always seem to have something wrong because maintenance isn’t scheduled while they’re vacant. If you’re only here for a few days, expect to waste time on excuses about repairs, or to come back and find the door wide open, dirty men in your room, and their personal belongings on the sheets you sleep on, even though I’d left instructions that nobody should enter unless I was there. Housekeepers also come in whenever they want and lock the door from the inside. I travel all over the world and around Brazil, and I’ve never seen anything like it. Whatever facilities the flat offers aren’t worth ruining an expensive vacation over staff having no rules. I filed complaints, but management just tries to justify this kind of intrusion. I paid the accommodation bill in cash, R$ 1,400 for 14 days, and paid extra for laundry and electricity. A hotel works out cheaper and comes without the hassle.
