Pousada Coqueiros

The place itself is beautiful and so peaceful, with a pool and really clean rooms. We had the best stay we could have asked for. Sra. Gi welcomed us warmly and gave us impeccable service, a thousand out of a thousand. Sr. Saulo also helped with the reservation and was very helpful. Everyone deserves praise. I loved it here, highly recommend it, and want to come back for a longer stay.

My family booked the place for three days over Christmas. The owner kept showing up and used the computer while we were there. I don't know if it was his son, but on the last day he also played GTA with our whole family there, even though we weren't going to take long to leave. The room I stayed in was disgusting, with a filthy wall and a broken door. My brother woke up with a cockroach crawling on him, and another appeared while I was showering. After we left, the owner said we had broken the door, even though it was already broken when we got there. I do not recommend it!

The space is wonderful and comfortably fits everyone, but the owner really let us down by failing to keep the agreements. From what other reviews say, this happens often. We talked with him about having the pousada to ourselves for New Year's. He agreed and said it would be better that way, since he wouldn't need to worry if it was just for one person. But we ran into several problems. Guests were still there at the agreed key handover time, including someone who had lived there for three years. The contract he sent said someone would come every day to clean and tidy up, but that person only came once. He said he lived nearby, but actually lives at the pousada. He kept walking around the space and wanted to drink our chopp and eat the food we brought. Several times, he locked the door to the utensils he'd said would be available to us. At one point he shut off the gas hose without telling us. One night he arrived completely drunk, and the street guard told us someone was inside a car with the gate open, putting our safety at risk. He was rude to the cook we hired, treating her like his employee, whom he also treats rudely.

A note for anyone planning a stay: in 2023, our group of about 22 booked the whole inn and paid as agreed. The contract said cleaning would be provided every day, but it happened only once. We had also been told the owner didn’t live there, yet he kept showing up. He tried to help himself to our food and drinks, which felt intrusive and awkward. We told him his presence was bothering us, but he still came by, sometimes drunk. His behavior was rude and harsh toward everyone throughout the stay. We had reserved the place for our family, but other guests were still there on the first and second days.
