Pousada Costa Rio

I wouldn't recommend it. The woman who checked us in called it a suite, but we got a room with a bathroom that had no ventilation. The shower was right against the wall, and the walls looked so dirty it seemed they hadn't been scrubbed in a long time. The toilet paper was the very thin kind, there was a bloodstain on the bedroom wall, and there were only two outlets, far from the beds. The floor still had sand on it, as if it hadn't been cleaned. The sheet was torn, though clean. The air conditioning and usable mini fridge were the only good things about the room. Breakfast was another letdown. The black coffee was the only thing that saved it. The rest was poor and very basic. There was a moldy cake, and lots of mosquitoes over the fruit, cold cuts, and bread. They should treat all guests with more care instead of choosing based on social class. That's the impression I got: if you look like you have money, you get one of the better upstairs rooms. For a price that isn't especially low, breakfast should at least be decent, and they don't even have fresh juice.
