Pousada Rio das Ostras

Douglas was wonderful about staying available on WhatsApp and helping with whatever we needed. We were told there wouldn't be guests that week, and since we booked at the last minute, breakfast hadn't been planned. Even so, they put together fresh juice, fruit, sweet and savory bread, cold cuts, margarine, and a delicious coconut cake that was still warm. It was improvised in the corridor because the hotel is new, but Douglas said we could take food to our room and help ourselves. The juice tasted like it might be powdered, and I would have preferred boxed 100% orange or grape juice. The mozzarella was hard to separate, so I'd switch to queijo prato, which I find tastier. The apresuntado was frozen and got unpleasant to eat at one point. The room and hotel were clean and organized. They provided soap, a very powerful fan, clean, nice-smelling bath and face towels, and air conditioning, though I couldn't get it to turn on. There was a kitchen for preparing meals, but no appliances like a stove or refrigerator to store food, or even a water filter. We were surprised by the quality of the stay and the friendly service. I recommend the hotel without hesitation and would stay there again when we return.
