Apartamento Copacabana Mar

The rooms feel a bit dated, as other reviews have said, but the hotel is in a great location. Pedro really made our stay. We were stranded by flight delays from a snowstorm, and he was incredibly kind and friendly. He went out of his way to help and make sure we were comfortable during a stressful time.

The staff were welcoming, always around to help, and the place was clean. That made for a very good stay for the price, especially in peak season. The location is ideal, with both the beach and metro only a few minutes away. The building is dated and could use major renovation and modernization. Our room wasn’t especially quiet, and the beds weren’t very comfortable. Breakfast was good, though I’d have liked more fruit and pastries.

The staff were friendly, and the location was convenient, close to the beach and lots of restaurants. I still wouldn’t stay here again. The bedroom was spacious and had large windows, but sound carried easily from the street and neighboring rooms, including conversations and TVs. The elevators were frustratingly slow. The bathroom needs serious work. There was mold on the walls, peeling wall coverings, and no ventilation, so it felt stuffy. It needs a deep clean, a better toilet seat, and a shower head that’s been descaled. At least the water pressure and temperature were excellent. Breakfast was decent but basic, with little change from day to day. The rooftop pool was small and clean, though there was only one sunbed.

It’s incredibly noisy. With the windows closed, I could still hear every car, truck, and bus, plus dozens of air conditioners humming outside.
