Hotel Atlantico Praia

The room was tiny and unattractive for the huge price, and the shower door was broken, so water spread across the bathroom floor. It took almost 10 minutes of running the taps to get hot water, and no one told us about that. The pool was closed for renovations, but we only found out after booking. I had three issues with the room and each time reception said they'd send someone, but nobody came. The front desk staff seemed blunt and rushed, even though there were no other customers around.

The breakfast was good and the location excellent, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. The hotel badly needs renovation: the room and amenities are out of date, there were bugs in the room and shower, the shower glass was dirty, and the beds need replacing. Wi-Fi was basically nonexistent. In 2025 there's no excuse for such slow, unreliable internet. When I could connect, it was extremely slow, and my 5G network was more reliable. There were no outlets by the bed, so charging my phone meant leaving it far away. The phone near the bed didn't work, so I had to walk to reception if I needed anything. The TV and remote were out of date, and the remote fell apart easily. Pay a little more for a better, more enjoyable stay.

The staff were really helpful, especially Loradio and Mario, and I’m grateful for how they treated me. The hotel itself is in a good spot, but the room had constant mechanical noise and felt dated. The rest of the staff seemed wonderful too.

I booked through Expedia because the hotel is right across from Copacabana Beach, and its waterfront photos looked appealing. At $600 a night, though, the room was in awful shape: the sheets were old, wrinkled and stained, including one mark that looked like poop. The furniture was stained too, the mattress was uncomfortable, and the room smelled musty and dated. When I complained, they offered an upgrade for $1,000 a night because it was New Year’s. I booked at the last minute because of work, and the other hotels in Copacabana Beach were already full. This was worse than a one-star motel or hotel.
