The showers and toilets were clean and worked well, and CaipiHostel is handy for Santos Dumont Airport and buses to the main beaches. I’ve stayed here a couple of times now and keep finding the people friendly and helpful. It’s right in the middle of Rio’s nightlife, with a free caipirinha every night as a bonus. I’m not young anymore, but I’ve never felt out of place with the younger guests. A great place to stay.

My first hostel in Brazil, and my first in Rio. I had a great time! CaipiHostel is in Lapa, the nightlife district, and gives you one free Caipirinha each day. It’s pretty clean and has a relaxed feel, with helpful staff around the clock and a great party every Saturday night.

The staff are so kind and friendly, and the place is spacious, clean, and laid back. The price is unbelievably good. I only had one night here, which was a shame. Next time I’m back in Rio, I’ll stay here again. If you’re heading to Lapa, this is the place.

Really good value, with a great vibe and friendly, smiling cleaners. Charlie, aka shaggy, is an amazing manager, somehow partying nonstop while staying welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Great location and staff.

This hostel is a scam, so don’t stay here. They cheat people, especially through Airbnb. There’s no free parking and no swimming pool, even though they advertise those amenities.
