Hotel Caracas Rio

Room107 was tiny and had no refrigerator. A bunch of AC compressors outside the window made it extremely noisy, and while I was asleep, someone accidentally came into my room. Compared with this place, Ibis budget looks like a 5-star hotel. It makes more sense to pay 30 reais extra for somewhere nice to rest.

We stayed one night because our flight landed late. After a 20-hour flight, we just wanted our room, but the night porter couldn't find our prepaid booking and refused to accept my printed confirmation. He argued with me for half an hour and was incredibly rude. Eventually he checked the computer and found it. No apology, friendly word, or help with our bags. The room was like a cave, barely a room at all. The floor and walls were dirty, and the bathroom smelled like dead animals. There was a 1.40 m bed and a broken pull-out couch with no sheets, yet we paid the price of a four-bed family room for three small children. I was too exhausted to call the police or health office, but this place needs to be shut down. If this were the last hotel in Rio, sleeping on the sand at Copacabana would be better.

Whenever I visit Brasil, I come back here. The service is excellent and the people are lovely.

A good low-key option if you're on a budget. The reception isn't bad either.
