Patricia makes you feel at home and checks that you have what you need. Casa Alecrim sits on the hillside in Santa Teresa, with the lively center about a five-minute walk away. It’s a comfortable place to recharge before or after a full day, and public transit or Uber can take you around the rest of Rio.

From the balcony, you can look out over the Tijuca Forest, and the property also has a view of Cristo Redentor. Casa Alecrim Bed & Breakfast is surrounded by native plant gardens, with bright-colored rooms that overlook the garden. Rooms have shared bathrooms, and fans, sheets, and towels are provided. There’s free Wi-Fi and breakfast each day, plus a shared lounge, shared kitchen, and a 24-hour reception. It’s in Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro.
