There are plenty of places to eat and drink just a couple of blocks away, and the metro is nearby too. Breakfast is served daily with lots of choices, including options for vegans. The hostel also has a clean, fully equipped kitchen if you’d rather cook. I arrived in Rio in late January, right in high season, and still found a bed that day. The staff were sort of friendly, the rooms and facilities were well kept, and the price was incredibly low. Highly recommended!

We picked this fun hostel for its location near the Metro. Our small private room was comfortable, had its own bathroom, and looked out over the bar. There’s a bar and restaurant right on the street. Most of the staff didn’t know much English, but they were very helpful.

The crew are really nice, and the hostel often holds events where locals and foreigners can meet, share ideas, and practice languages. I recommend it.
