There were lots of young people staying here. The staff were friendly, and it felt clean and secure, with everything practical for a good night's sleep. Breakfast was okay, though the rooms were a little too small. I stayed in 2011.

The only real advantage is the location, just two blocks from Copacabana beach. I spent two nights here in November 2013, and they were the worst of my trip. The corridors and rooms were so cramped you could barely move around. The whole place seemed to be falling apart, from the furniture and walls to the structure, and it smelled of mold and other bathroom odors. The service and facilities were awful, and the guys who helped us were unfriendly and couldn't answer questions. I wouldn't come back even for one night.

I'm still here, and I'm about to shower so I can enjoy another wonderful day in rio. The people are really optimistic, and I feel confident leaving my valuables here. Excellent.

The upstairs rooms were nice, and I made some great friends here. I also enjoyed the Um dia no Rio tour, it was beautiful *_*. Copinha Hostel has a fantastic location, really good service, and several extra services. Thanks, Copinha!

A filthy, smelly hostel with a terrible breakfast and impolite staff, especially someone called Nick. The kitchen was disgusting, and the cook was in an unbelievably bad mood. Haha, never again.
