Easygoing Hostel

There was a lot of noise. The place was dirty and cramped.

Just average.

I had a really bad stay. The atmosphere was unpleasant, and other guests were rude and didn’t even say good morning. The floor was covered in dust, the sofa was grimy, the rooms smelled like sweaty feet, and the bathrooms had dirt on the floor. There was only one working shower, and a leak had left puddles everywhere. I never saw anyone clean the hostel while I was there, and there’s no place to do laundry. The kitchen was dirty too. They say breakfast is included, but that isn’t true, and there’s no terrace like the listing says. Reception and service were terrible, and a staff member gave wrong information. The owner sleeps in the rooms with guests, is extremely rude and impolite, and has no sense of boundaries. He also collects money from guests in front of other people. In short, it was a terrible place overall, and I don’t recommend it.

The staff were great. One of them even lent me a bike to go to a nearby pharmacy. It was fairly cheap, if I remember right, 50 a night, and a 1L bottle of water cost 5. There was free coffee all day, good air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and no crowds. The Wi-Fi was probably 500kbs per user, though it sometimes didn’t work. Rooms had two triple bunk beds each, and the bed came with a cover, sheet, pillow, and blanket. The bathroom was okay but could use a more thorough cleaning. I paid half on the first day and paid the rest in daily installments through my last day. The access area isn’t the best, but it’s close to downtown, right at the start of the community. I’d recommend keeping a low profile to avoid bad looks. There’s a bakery, snack bar, and bus stop right next door.
