Pousada Estrelas da Babilonia

Bibi was so kind and reassuring, and the shared garden patio is a beautiful, peaceful spot. There are three cats and a dog, all super cute, and even a little monkey came to visit during our exceptional breakfast. We nicknamed him Einstein. We spent two nights at this special pousada in the Babylonia-Leme favela and had a wonderful time. We knew we were booking in a favela, but it was pacified, quiet, and very safe. People in the neighborhood were welcoming and smiled at us. We walked there, though the uphill 10-15 minutes with backpacks wasn't easy. Mototaxis are available to rent. It was nice to spend two nights here before moving to another accommodation. The room was small but had everything we needed. The bathroom was shared, though it still felt private. Meals around the posada in the neighborhood were cheap and filling. I wouldn't suggest this pousada for children or elderly people, but for anyone open to new experiences and willing to trust their instincts and all our reviews, go for it.

Bibi is a very warm and generous host. She talked us through how everything works and even let us leave some luggage when we went out of town for a few days. This is a relaxed hotel/hostel in Babilônia, a green oasis in the city. We felt very safe and welcome.

From the top, the accommodation has breathtaking views of Copacabana. It's a private retreat that works perfectly for couples or anyone wanting somewhere secluded. Bibi is an incredible host, and the breakfast really is exceptional. For a visit to Rio, this is the ideal spot and truly the best place to stay!

The community felt incredibly friendly, familiar, and safe, and the place itself was beautiful and quiet. We had the most magical stay, and Bibi was the best host. We felt welcome and well looked after. Don't miss it if you get the chance!
