There’s no laundry service, so I used a nearby laundromat and found it overpriced. Shop around if you need one. The towels and sheets also had a terrible detergent smell, and the rooms are very basic. They provide bar soap, but no liquid soap, so you might want to bring your own. The hotel doesn’t provide filtered water, so you have to buy bottled water in the lobby, where it’s overpriced. I find that unacceptable in humid Rio de Janeiro, especially since restaurants have to provide filtered water if asked. The air conditioning can’t go below 21.5 degrees, and there’s no fan.

The location is excellent, but the rooms are tiny, really suited to one person. With more than one, bring nothing, as there’s no space for your things. Reward points also aren’t credited during the stay.

The room was cosy and quiet, which matters a lot to me. It was a tight fit, though. If you’re a big person, getting around the toilet room might take some gymnastics. Service was five star. Jeniffer (sp?) was swamped when I arrived but stayed calm, friendly and professional. Ana was just as friendly and professional. Breakfast was good for a budget hotel.

The toilet handle was broken, and the door locked from inside, so we literally couldn’t use the toilet. The shampoo pump was broken too, so I had to use my own shampoo. Even though I’d checked in online, check-in at the counter was inefficient and I still had to wait a long time.
