ibis Copacabana Posto 2 Hotel

The staff were friendly and always smiling. The location is pretty good, with Copacabana beach just a few minutes away on foot, plus restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and pharmacies nearby. My room was clean and okay equipped, and they serve a simple breakfast buffet. I wouldn’t stay here again. For five nights it was still quite expensive, and I expected better service and rooms. If noise doesn’t bother you, it may be okay, but the street is busy and you hear it. My fridge was noisy too, and one bathroom light didn’t work. It looked like there were dead insects inside it. After being told I could check in at 2pm, I spent hours outside and came back at 2:20. The woman at reception seemed a bit annoyed that I wanted to check in, but found me a room within five minutes. It was next to a room under construction and very noisy. I asked to change rooms. The new one on the 10th floor was worse, with a sound like a generator right outside the window, loud as a tarmac. I complained again and got a room on the 9th floor. It was still noisy, but bearable.

The location suited me perfectly, close to Copacabana, a metro station and a supermarket. I asked for a quiet room facing the backyard, and it really was quiet. Rooms are fairly spacious and have what you need, with very clean, nice-smelling linen. Breakfast was good and tasty, and the staff were very helpful. Most don’t speak English, so be ready to use some Portuguese. A very nice, cozy hotel!

Breakfast is amazing, and the place is really nice, close to the beach and restaurants. The rooms are comfortable, though the bathroom sink drained slowly the whole time. I’d come back next time I’m in Rio.

The staff are super helpful and friendly. It’s good value for the price, about a five-minute walk to the beach, with pharmacies, markets and restaurants really close by. Breakfast is normal, with a decent variety.
