The hotel's best feature is being right on the beach, and the staff were sweet and friendly. But my room was on the fish market and park side, and the noise went on late at night and early in the morning. I barely slept. Breakfast was awful, with rubbery scrambled eggs, the same chopped sausage every day, fruit flies around old fruit, and nasty coffee. The hotel itself is old and dirty, and the balcony sliding door wouldn't lock. I can't recommend it. I don't know how it has 4.4 stars, maybe it did 5 or 10 years ago.

The location is hard to beat, with the hotel among the closest to the beach in Rio. The rest was disappointing. The facilities seemed old, the air conditioner was noisy, and cleaning was very basic. Sand was already all over the room when I arrived on the first day. Breakfast was poor, with food that seemed stale and bad coffee. There was no espresso machine, and the silent restaurant made breakfast feel awkward. Reception wasn't welcoming: the staff avoided eye contact and spoke bluntly. Check-in was slow and old-fashioned, with paperwork like an application form. I wouldn't stay again; it isn't worth it.

Right by the beach, with restaurants nearby and not many tourists around, the location was perfect and I loved it. The breakfast was okay, though it was the same menu every day, with a range of breads and cookies. Most of the staff were kind and helpful. One young man working breakfast almost every morning watched guests as if they might steal something, which felt uncomfortable. My room was extremely small for two, and I found roaches coming out of the bathroom. The hotel is okay, but it could be great if it were upgraded.

We found the hotel in a rush and arrived without knowing what to expect. The rooms were spotless, the staff excellent, and breakfast amazing. It also felt very safe and was in a wonderful location. I wish I could live there!
