Mojito Hostel & Suites

The team is friendly and really helpful, and everyone can use the kitchen, which was great for making our own small breakfasts since the included breakfast was the same every morning. The hostel is about a five-minute walk from Hipanema beach. I wasn't a fan of the mixed-gender bedrooms, though. Carnival is the best time to be there.

What stood out most was how friendly and helpful the staff were. We had a private room for three, simple but very clean, with our own bathroom. The location is good, not far from Ipanema beach. It's easy to meet people here, but it isn't a standard party hostel, so getting a good night's sleep was easy. I'd come back.

We only used the hostel for a few afternoon hours while waiting for our bus to Sao Paulo, just to shower and rest. The place felt pretty average, and the towels cost far too much, 30 reales for two, when that could buy you a towel. The atmosphere wasn't great during our stay, though maybe Covid was a factor. I wouldn't recommend it for now.

The place can be fun, but some guests were inconsiderate, coming back from the club at 4am, turning on the lights, and talking loudly. There doesn't seem to be much control over that.
