Pineapples Ja301 Comfort in Ipanema

The beach is only a two-minute walk away, and the neighborhood is nice. I also found it great as a solo traveler, with activities organized by the hostel. I’ve stayed in lots of hostels while traveling around Southeast Asia, but none had quite this familiar, social atmosphere. Rodrigo at reception was welcoming, and everyone working here was lovely. I really, really enjoyed my stay.

We only stayed two nights, but made such good friends that we came back to spend more time at the bar and restaurant. The planned activities were the best part for me, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Our private room was small, as expected, but great, and having our own bathroom was nice. The atmosphere was fantastic. I’d definitely recommend it.

There’s something happening every day, so you won’t get bored, and I had a great time here. Ipanema beach is right next door. The staff were helpful at any hour, and Effy was especially helpful when I checked out.

I met so many people from all over the world that leaving was really hard. I’m sure I’ll be back sooner than I would’ve imagined before the trip. The hostel is right near Ipanema Beach, just a block from the metro, with lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. There’s also a bar and restaurant inside if you’d rather stay in and have fun there. The Maracana Stadium match was easily my greatest experience. I went with a lot of people from the hostel and some of the staff, and I got the tickets at reception. The city group tours with Luan, Lay, Landim, and the others were great too, as were the evening Flip the cup and Beer Pong competitions. The whole crew was amazing. They made me feel welcome from the beginning, greeted me every day, and were there with the right answer whenever I had a problem.
