The room service staff were pretty decent, and my first impression of the hotel was quite good. My last stay changed that: the room was full of mosquitoes, and the receptionist was completely rude and unhelpful. I don’t know if something had upset him.

The breakfast was good, and I liked having a coffee maker in the room, though I had to buy the coffee myself. There’s a garage or shop nearby and a supermarket a little farther away. Reception had occasional queues, and the pool was nice, but sometimes closed, so check with the desk. I was there for a conference at RioCentro, which is quite far away, but the 811 bus goes straight there.

The cheeseburger and sandwich americano were the best things I ate here. You can order food on WhatsApp, which is a plus. The food is good except for breakfast. I’m more of an English breakfast person and don’t really like Brazilian breakfast, but there’s still something to eat if you’re hungry. The rooms are big and have smart TVs, though Netflix and YouTube wouldn’t work because of some internet issue. Reception staff speak English; I didn’t have much contact with the restaurant staff, so I can’t say about them. All in all, this is my No 2 hotel in Rio!

I stayed for almost a month, and the staff were really supportive. The property is huge, maybe with more than 100 rooms. My room was spacious, comfortable for a long stay, and had an oven, coffee maker, and dryer. It was cleaned daily. Breakfast was good, and there’s also an indoor pool and fitness center. A good place to stay in Rio at a reasonable price.
