Regency Park Hotel

We moved out two nights before our booking ended because I couldn't stay in Room 402 any longer. We were there from March 5 to March 9, and this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. I would especially avoid it if you have asthma or allergies, are pregnant, travel with kids, or are sensitive to mold or strong smells. The room was extremely dirty, old, and poorly maintained. There was a constant heavy smell, like mold mixed with sewage, that was impossible to ignore, especially at night. The mattresses and sheets were stained, the mirrors were broken, the shower didn't work properly, and the AC was directly in front of the bed. It was either freezing all night or hot with the AC off, along with the smell and stale air. I could barely sleep. We asked for the room to be cleaned for two days and were ignored. When they finally changed the bedding, the replacement sheets were stained too. The whole room felt damp, neglected, and unhealthy. Renovation work in the hotel also made noise at night and kept us alert instead of letting us rest. Outside, there was a disturbing situation with homeless people near the property and police using gas nearby. We started coughing, and the staff did nothing to explain what was happening or help guests. The food was okay but repetitive, and the plates didn't always look clean. This was the first time I've ever left a hotel before the end of my booking. We moved out early because of the room conditions, and they still haven't handled the refund properly. They should be ashamed to sell rooms in this state. Room 402 should never have been given to a guest.

I almost never write hotel reviews, and I hate complaining, but after paying for a supposed four-star stay, I felt I should warn people. This isn't an awful hotel or the worst I've stayed in. It just isn't four-star quality. I've stayed in three- and four-star hotels in Brazil, and both were more comfortable than this one. There's barely any space beyond the bed and bathroom, like a motel. In the bathroom, there's nowhere to put a toothbrush or face moisturizer, so your toiletries have to sit in the sink. Apparently a shelf or counter is a five-star amenity. If you've used a gas station bathroom, this will feel familiar. I've traveled around the U.S., Europe, and Latin America, and I wouldn't expect this for a four-star hotel. I was excited to book one, but the disappointment made me feel obliged to speak up. I paid the same price for a four-star hotel in Sao Paulo and had a much more pleasant stay. The difference was night and day. I'd advise everyone I know to avoid Park Regency if they can.

My wife, daughter, and I had one of the worst experiences of our lives at this hotel. The location is good, and some of the staff were polite, but the place is cluttered and disorganized, as if it's being renovated. We were on the first floor. The rooms look new at first glance, but cleanliness was terrible. There was dust everywhere, a dirty floor, very weak shower water, and hardly any channels on the TV. I don't recommend it at all. We moved to another hotel on the same corner, and it was a completely different experience, clean, organized, and with excellent service. This place isn't worth the risk.

For what they charged, this was a very disappointing stay and terrible value. The lifts kept failing, the apartment had no water, and there was no electricity for a whole day, so even basic hygiene was impossible. We also had to get our key cards revalidated every time we came back, which was extremely inconvenient. Worse, there were no emergency lights in the stairwells and no visible fire safety measures, which felt like a serious safety concern. The room looked nothing like the website photos, which seemed misleading. The breakfast restaurant host was very rude and treated guests poorly, creating a hostile atmosphere. The infrastructure and service were unacceptable. I don't recommend it.
