What bothered me most was how little anyone seemed to care about guest satisfaction. My room key often failed, and the internet was down most days. The cleaner did a poor job and left rubbish around. When I called reception, they hung up on me. The gym wasn't open when I went twice. Nobody, including reception, had the key, though staff kept saying it was open. I said I'd come back later and they promised to sort it out, but nobody did within an hour. On departure day, several staff called to tell me to leave as soon as possible, phrased as a “reminder.” Even the luggage room costs extra for someone who'd stayed a full week. And so on.

Thank you all so much for hosting me for two weeks. It was safe and pleasant, and everyone working there was very friendly. You were good-looking, intelligent, professional, and always up for an interesting conversation about Rio de Janeiro and all sorts of other things. I miss it already. The pricing felt dishonest, and the whole experience was poor. They charged me more for an extra person sleeping in the same room than it would have cost to rent another room. Then they overcharged me for the garage as well. Instead of making guests feel welcome, it seems like the focus is on taking as much money as possible. Breakfast was low quality and very poor, nowhere near what they advertise. The hotel treated guests badly, and I strongly recommend staying somewhere else. There are plenty of better options in Copacabana that respect their customers.

I've lived in Rio, so I know what a three-star hotel should be like, and this was far below that. The property was old and dirty, and I had to switch rooms several times in a single night because the conditions were unacceptable. Disgusting. By far the worst hotel I've stayed in, and not worthy of a three-star rating.
