Santinhas de Santa

I stayed for a week and saw some great improvements to breakfast during that time. They added a separate buffet area away from the tables and expanded the selection: pão Francês, sliced bread, butter, cheese, ham, three kinds of fruit, juice, milk, and corn flakes. Everything was clean and organized. Santa Teresa is a beautiful historic neighborhood, peaceful and with restaurants and bars open at night. It's a bit far from the main beaches, but Lapa is right next door for anyone who likes clubs and bars with different kinds of Brazilian and Latin music. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I'll definitely be back.

The hostel is a cozy, beautiful mansion from the beginning of the 20th century, in one of Rio's most charming neighborhoods. Everyone I met was friendly. I also got to meet people from all over the world and many different cultures. It was a unique experience.

The neighborhood is peaceful and pleasant, with a supermarket across the street. The Seleron staircase and Lapa are nearby, and a free historic shuttle passes close by on its way down to Caracas train station. Just be careful at night. Two city buses, 007 and 006, stop right outside and go through downtown Rio. These useful location and transport details aren't mentioned at the hotel. Putting them on a wall would help tourists make the most of the area and get around, especially when they're navigating a country where they don't speak the language. Sharing these tips with guests would be a much appreciated touch.

The place is really nice, but during late check-out we had to take our bags out of the room and leave them in the kitchen. The breakfast table is too small for the number of guests.
