It’s a very new building, but they present it like a hotel and checking in turns into a hassle because of the receptionist. It’s expensive for what you get, and they won’t store your luggage after checkout.

The apartments are cozy and modern in a fully renovated building. It’s very close to Carioca and Cinelandia metro stations, near the Municipal Theater, and easy to reach Santos Dumont Airport, the bus station, Aterro do Flamengo, and Praça XV (ferries).

The Center is one of the city’s prettiest and most interesting areas, yet Cariocas have neglected and rejected it for decades. It also has urban problems that are hard to fix, and it still feels inhospitable as a place to live. There’s a lot of risk in moving there, with no price advantage to make up for it: the price per square meter matches Flamengo/Catete, established residential neighborhoods. Prices should be low enough to draw people from nearby neighborhoods and, especially, from the north zone and greater Rio, where residents are worn down by long traffic jams and terrible public transport. Still, this development is sensational, like the other similar projects in central Rio.

Right in the heart of Rio de Janeiro, the location is excellent. The revitalization of downtown Rio is heading in promising directions. There’s still a way to go, but people who really know the area appreciate it.
