Social Hostel

This was the worst hostel I've stayed in. I booked a dorm bed and was first in the room, yet it wasn't particularly clean. Guests have to put on and remove their own sheets. A shower towel costs 10 riyals. The rooms are very small, and with no bed curtains there's no basic privacy. The shower had no hot water. The internet didn't work in the rooms and only worked intermittently in the lobby. The ATM charges a very high fee, so I wouldn't recommend using it. I wouldn't call it good value. If you're trying to save money, you'd be better off sleeping in Lapa.

Just reviewing the bar next to the hostel, where I love getting a caipirinha. It's really good, and at the Happy Hour price it's a real treat, about $2.50. I like their burgers with extra pickles too, around $8. I didn't stay at the hotel or hostel, so I have no idea what it's like.

A really bad hostel. There were cockroaches in the elevator, and the elevators didn't work properly. The air conditioning blew right at my face and made me sick. The room key stopped working at least once a day, so I had to ask reception to fix it. The lights went out every time I entered the toilet or shower, leaving me to shower in the dark. Very bad place.

We had a really bad stay. The receptionist messed up our reservations and put us in the wrong room, then asked us to move rooms midway through our four-night booking for no reason. We also booked a night at Ilha Grande social, only to learn on arrival day that they were overbooked and we'd have to find another hostel. The staff didn't speak to us respectfully, and the kitchen smelled very bad. I wouldn't recommend this hostel to anyone.
