The location was the best part, just one block from the beach, with plenty of bars, restaurants, markets, bakeries, pharmacies, and shops nearby. The Canta Galo metro station is about three blocks away, if I remember right, and easy to get to. The area caters well to tourists and felt relatively safe to walk around in the day and at night. We didn't see any theft or robberies during our stay, though we avoided using our phones out on the street. We stayed in apartment 902, rented through Airbnb, and had a wonderful time. The building is old but fully renovated, with two elevators and a 24-hour front desk that was always available. It was clean and pest-treated, and taking the rubbish to the bin was easy. We highly recommend it.

The bedroom had a strong mothball smell, and I was charged an extra cleaning fee even though the apartment wasn't clean. There were hairs all over the floor and dust. The photos made the place look tidy, but the building and apartment showed signs of aging when I arrived. If you have any breathing problems, I wouldn't recommend staying here. Very disappointing.

I've spent New Year's Eve in Copacabana for the past five years and always stay at Djalma 49. The welcome is so warm that I end up staying for a month. Everything is very clean, and depending on the apartment, you can see the sea. Congratulations to the whole team for being so attentive.
