Good value for the money. It's worth checking out Copacabana and the surrounding area without spending too much.

I live in Buenos Aires and work as a travel agent. I've visited Rio more than ten times, staying in different hotels so I could recommend them to clients from firsthand experience. For this trip I booked this hotel myself at a non-refundable rate. A few days before I was due to travel, my mother was hospitalized. She died eight days later. I sent the hotel her medical certificates and death certificate to support my cancellation request, but they still wouldn't refund me. Rio is a wonderful city and I'll come back, but for work I'll pick another hotel. I hope the money they kept goes toward buying medicine.
We booked a room for two, but were given a room with two double beds pushed together. There was a gap and an uneven join between them, and one side sagged. The reception told us most rooms were set up that way and there was nothing they could do. The hotel offered no help with fixing it, and nobody mentioned this arrangement while we were booking.
The rooms are cozy, and the staff are polite and well prepared. The hotel is excellent value for the price.
Everything was in great shape, from the tidy hotel to the rooms in perfect condition. The staff were really warm and friendly too.
