OYO Hotel Rio Verde

The staff at reception were polite, though they seemed inexperienced. The manager, on the other hand, was rude and unprofessional, blaming the guest for choosing an “economy” room. The place felt abandoned, with old furniture, a musty-smelling room, a bathroom that looked neglected, and wires hanging loose. Horrible, like a horror movie.

I booked separate rooms for myself and a colleague at Hotel Rio Verde, but when we arrived they sent us to Hotel Ágape, which belongs to the same owner. Both hotels were awful, with mediocre rooms, terrible service, and poor accommodations. I really don’t recommend either one. There was heavy damp damage in the room, the air conditioner was frozen over, and mold was everywhere. Breakfast was awful too. The food ran out and nobody refilled it, so guests were left hungry.

I was going to stay at that hotel, which has the same owner as hotel ágape, but the room was full of trash and had dirty bedding. I decided not to stay there with my wife. The other hotel is filthy too. Note: the photos are of their other hotel.

The reception is the one exception: it’s nice and well organized. The attendants were extremely kind and polite the whole time, and the location is good. But my five days there were awful. There was no housekeeping, no parking, and the car has to stay on the street. Breakfast could have been a strong point, but by 8 in the morning there was nothing left, and it wasn’t restocked during my stay. The hotel is old and poorly cared for, and the rooms are dated, dirty, dusty, and stink of mold. On the first night, my rhinitis flared up and I struggled to sleep. Looking more closely, I saw the mattress was filthy and covered in stains. Even with the lower prices, I wouldn’t stay there again. For a small difference in price, there are better options in town.
