Casa Di Vina Boutique Hotel

That breakfast buffet was my favorite part of each day. Vaina greeted us every morning with so much warmth and paid close attention to what we needed. The restaurant has plenty of delicious food and drinks, and the service was great throughout our 10 nights at Casa da Vina. The hotel is calm and safe, in a perfect location, and felt like a relaxing home away from home.

Vania greeted me at breakfast every morning, made sure I had everything I needed, and even helped me practice my Portuguese. She put a smile on my face each day. Everyone on staff was patient, friendly, and helpful. The food is delicious, and the rooms are sunny, spacious, and comfortable. I loved staying and eating here in Itapua and hope to return someday.

Breakfast was a letdown. We arrived around 9 a.m., even though breakfast runs until 10, and the staff treated us poorly while they were preparing the restaurant for lunch. They tried to steer guests to tables by the pool. When we said no, the mood turned hostile and made us uncomfortable. Some male employees also stared at us in an invasive way, which made the place feel unwelcoming. Room service was poor too, with meals arriving without plates, cutlery, or drinks. The room was spacious, but needs urgent improvements. There was a strong mold smell as soon as we walked in, and we saw spiders and ants. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Noise was another problem: the rooms aren’t soundproof, and we heard footsteps next door, plus restaurant noise and people talking and drinking at night. It was impossible to rest. There was construction going on without any notice beforehand. Mornings brought dust and noise, and staff even swept the restaurant while guests were still eating breakfast, as if hurrying us out. What should have been a pleasant stay in Salvador became frustrating and exhausting.

They agreed to let us eat at the restaurant and gave us a table, but the man with the big nose waited until we’d chosen our food to say the tables were only for hotel residents. There were hardly any customers, yet we had to leave. He seemed too lazy to work, and the service was horrible. I could see the arrogance in his eyes.
