Catussaba Suítes Resort

The private beach felt safe, the pool was excellent, and the new rooms were spacious, with a wonderful bed, quiet new air conditioning and a fantastic shower. The Nespresso coffee machine was a nice touch, breakfast was excellent, and the staff were attentive. I’d easily return. The kids would have liked a water slide. Cleaning was good apart from the gym, where there’s no air conditioning. It gets so hot that the door has to stay open, which lets in the birds that roam freely around the hotel. The birds are adorable and the children loved them, but they don’t belong in the gym. The lack of AC there is a downside, and the gym needs more equipment.

The rooms are huge and have lovely views of the sea and pool. The hotel shares a complex with the adjacent Catussaba Resort, so you can also use its pool, bars and other facilities next door. We got excellent service and the cleanliness was impeccable. I’m not sure it deserves four stars. To me, it’s a lovely, well-equipped three-star hotel. There isn’t much nightlife in the area, so I’d suggest having dinner there. The buffet has a pretty wide selection.

Catussaba Suítes has direct access to the beach, and guests can also use the resort, so the facilities are great. The beach has waves, which is ideal if you like them. If you don’t, walk a little way toward the corals, where the water is calmer. The place is really good, with newer facilities, excellent rooms, a very large pool and a good breakfast. They could use one more griddle, though, so two people could make tapioca. The line gets quite long during busy weeks.

We left feeling refreshed and satisfied, and yes, I’d choose this hotel again. The beach is right out front, with several kilometers to walk in either direction. The food service was good. We booked half-board, and breakfast was perfect, varied and delicious, with options for celiacs. The reception staff were generally friendly. The service staff were a bit sparing with their attention, but not inattentive, though they didn’t even smile. Still, the hotel had everything we needed for a comfortable, pleasant stay.
