The reception staff were wonderful, but everything else made for a terrible stay. I couldn't sleep all night: the mattress felt strange, and room 301 was small. The minibar was filthy inside and noisy. The air conditioner cooled normally, but there was no control for it or the TV. The toilet made a dripping-like noise at first, then went back to normal. Kitchen service took forever, and the internet was painfully slow. Breakfast was awful and offered almost no choice, just bread with egg or a ham and cheese sandwich, with coffee and milk and/or powdered juice.
This place doesn't deserve even one star. The person in charge shows no respect for guests' or neighbors' right to peace. The hotel frequently brings in a water delivery truck after 10 p.m., and its pump is so loud that nobody can sleep. It's especially bad for anyone with sleep problems. SUCOM should fine this irresponsible hotel and stop this kind of extremely noisy, 24-hour water delivery service. A complete disservice to Salvador.
I mostly used the hotel for overnight stays. The rooms were pleasant, a decent size compared with other hotels downtown, and had air conditioning. Breakfast was acceptable for the price, though I wasn't keen on the juice or coffee. Good value for money, which is why I'd give it four stars.
The rates are very low, and they also offer stays by the fraction of a day. In central Salvador, it's near Wall Mart, a delicatessen, and a few nice places to visit. The staff were kind and patient, and the hotel has a minibar, elevator, and electric shower. Breakfast was bread with egg or ham and cheese, plus juice or coffee. Still, there were some letdowns: the mattresses are hard, no blankets were provided, our air conditioner broke so we spent the night without it, and the Wi-Fi wasn't working.
