Hotel Pousada Brisa Mar

The night we arrived, around 8 pm as I'd told them beforehand, our room still wasn't ready. Check-in had started at 3 pm, but another guest was still in our room. They offered only a cheaper room with a single bed and no compensation, so I turned it down. The host said our room might be free around 11 pm and asked us to wait in a basement room, using only the bathroom and not the beds because we planned to go out. The room was awful, but I tried to be understanding. We stayed there less than an hour before two cockroaches appeared, and I decided to leave. The reception man didn't even know we had a reservation, despite my message the day before. We had just come back from a long trip with heavy suitcases and backpacks, and suddenly had nowhere to sleep. We were lucky to find another place since it wasn't too late, but having to search in the middle of the night was a nightmare. I tried to arrange a refund with the host responsible on Booking, but she just told me to wait for the platform. She said nothing like this had happened before, though I really doubt that. The whole place was completely disorganized and unsanitary. It's the worst place I've ever tried to stay.

The bathroom was so cramped I couldn't turn around to shower, and it flooded as well. Wi-Fi never worked during my stay, even though I complained all week, and the air conditioner sounded louder than an old truck. The cleaning lady was very friendly, though.

The place is falling apart. The beds were broken and creaked constantly, the bedroom floor was damaged, and the shower was burned out. There was no comfort to speak of, the Wi-Fi was useless, the air conditioner was noisy and dirty, and the bathroom sink was clogged. There are so many problems. The advertising is misleading. It's only any good once you're outside the gate. 👎🏽

The pousada is basic, but the location is incredible, the rooms are cozy, and breakfast is excellent. Thanks to everyone for the stay, you made my trip feel easier.
